We are looking for a hardworking Windows Systems Administrator to join our Systems Engineering team. In this position, your main responsibility is the administration of Microsoft Windows-based systems and services. The qualified candidate must have a BS or BA with three or more years of experience as a systems administrator in a high-availability production environment
Willingness to travel to various locations to support the SEI's overall mission. This may include national travel to SEI facilities, conferences, and offsite meetings on occasion.
You will be subject to a background check and will need to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
You will be providing 3rd tier support for the services and technologies coordinated by the Windows Team and working closely with other systems administrators and engineers to problem solve.
Operating and maintaining production Windows-based IT services at scale in a heterogeneous environment.
You are responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, security, and performance upgrades to support application resource management and availability.
Managing production Windows systems used to support multiple mission-critical initiatives.
You will solve difficult user software and hardware problems.
Oversight of the entire lifecycle (engineering, deployment, maintenance) of critical IT services.
Develop and maintain aptitude in Microsoft enterprise technologies such as Azure, System Center products, Exchange, SharePoint, etc.
Management of Active Directory and Group Policy.
Participate in the planning, deployment and/or maintenance of critical IT services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
You will have a detailed understanding of Windows systems and related technologies (e.g. Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manager, Group Policy).
You will have a working knowledge of at least one Windows scripting language (e.g. PowerShell). Experience using and troubleshooting Outlook in a Microsoft Exchange environment.
A working knowledge of usage, capabilities and troubleshooting related to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, including interaction with Microsoft Office desktop software and use of features such as workflows and versioning.
Skills related to evaluating and deploying enterprise software solutions. Working knowledge of other enterprise Microsoft software and solutions including Azure, Intune, endpoint protection solutions.
Experience operating production systems in a security-minded environment, preferably following compliance standards such as DISA STIGs.
Experience with Enterprise Mobility Management, iOS, and macOS
