Our client is hiring additional Contract Specialists to join their team at Patrick Air Force Base in Brevard County, FL
The contract specialist (CS) shall assist the contracting officer (CO) in planning, soliciting, awarding, administering, and closing contract actions. The CS shall interact with internal and external government and contractor personnel, as required, to ensure all contract actions comply with relevant regulations, local policies, and directives. Specific tasking includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Assist the CO and requirements owners with acquisition and source selection planning and documentation;
Assist requirements owners in the development of requirements documents such as the statement of work (SOW), statement of objectives (SOO), performance work statement (PWSs), independent government cost estimate (IGCE), justification and approval (J&A), and unique requirement-specific documents;
Prepare requests of proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFI);
Select appropriate solicitation provisions and contract terms/conditions;
Conduct and document market research;
Prepare required determinations and findings (D&Fs), waivers, and memorandums for the CO;
Perform cost and price analyses and prepare negotiation memorandums;
Work with the CO in contract termination and contract closeout;
Prepare contract solicitations, awards, and modifications in CMS for the CO.
6 years’ experience in DoD/federal environment performing contract administration functions
Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Certification in Contracting Level 2 or Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting Level 2 (or industry equivalent)
Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Federal Appropriations Law
Bachelor’s degree with 24 semester hours in any combination of accounting, business, finance or contract law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, and quantitative methods
