The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for collaborating with business group partners to deploy standard work, lead, optimize, and drive continuous improvement of Supply Chain Operations. Responsible for establishing an effective, integrated supply chain process at the manufacturing location. This person manages and directs the entire supply chain team including the dock personnel. This person represents the supply chain function on plant and division management teams. Key player in setting the business's strategic direction and aligning resources to meet business goals. This person is the Plant process owner for Capacity, Material Planning, and Inventory Management. They identify, define, and implement improvements to site supply chain processes.
As such, this person will be a member of the Plant Operating Committee and will collaborate with each member of the plant leadership team(s) to help the plant continuously improve to the plant's safety, quality, service, efficiency, cost, sustainability, and people development objectives
This position is in Indianapolis, IN at the Aearo Technologies LLC, a 3M company location.

Working with Aearo Business and 3M Business Leaders to drive Customer First initiatives in service, quality, cost and productivity improvements through deep understanding of customer expectations while developing systems to ensure sustained customer satisfaction through the Supply Chain.
Facilitating the development and implementation of the plant's supply chain vision and direction
Leading the development & maintenance of the site supply chain processes based on best practices and actively partners with adjacent functions and stakeholders for alignment and execution
Driving sustainable supply chain performance through capacity management responsiveness, delivery performance, supplier management and inventory management
Identifying, defining and implementing improvements to supply chain processes and performance, incorporating lean principles and cycle time reduction strategies
Providing training and coaching on various supply chain processes such as inventory management, non-working inventory management, capacity planning, scheduling, procurement optimization, lean material flow, and customer service
Providing direct supervision and coaching for logistics team and other operational staff. Accountable for the activities and results of their direct reports. Determine priorities, timelines, resource assignments. Provide employee performance feedback and reviews on a regular basis. Understanding and enforcing corporate/location policies and procedures; taking appropriate actions to address policy violations
Developing and be accountable for metrics which monitor plant performance, such as productivity, customer complaints, operational costs, LTA, inventory accuracy, business transformation, etc.
Willingness to be on-call as many operations run 24 hours a day
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in a science or engineering discipline
Five (5) years of combined experience in Supply Chain and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment
Three (3) years of supervision experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
MBA or similar degree
Experience with Business Transformation / SAP implementation
Previous Supply Chain supervisory experience.
APICS/CPIM certification (American Production and Inventory Control Society - Certified Production & Inventory Management)
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership to effectively deliver key operational objectives effecting Service, Inventory, Productivity and Logistics Costs
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
Results oriented individual with Excellent verbal & written communication skills to interact on a broad basis with customers (external/internal, both hourly/salaried employees and upper management)
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
