The Impact You'll Make in this Role
As a Site Procurement Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Developing and performing standardized procurement activities for area stockroom and Decatur site. Assisting personnel with material identification and availability. Determining order quantities and processes orders and receiving on purchasing systems. Making order processing changes as appropriate. Independently communicating with vendors regarding order and delivery information including order expediting and documentation as needed.
Implementing Sourcing programs and systems, existing and future, for the plant. Maintaining data accuracy in all systems that support stockroom activities. Maintaining inventory system integrity by accurately recording usage and returns. Setting up new stock items.
Providing inventory management support while complying with 3M and governmental policy and regulatory requirements by monitoring and maintaining inventory levels to support plant operations. Evaluating usage to determine inventory levels and resolve inventory discrepancies using basic analysis and investigative techniques. Conducting cycle inventory to ensure inventory accuracy. Analyzing imbalances, determining the source of discrepancy, and making corrections as appropriate. Managing stockroom obsolescence programs. Processing and reviewing backorder reports. Measuring and reporting on requested indices.
Analyzing vendor performance for cost, delivery and compliance and makes recommendations to supervisor/sourcing for corrective action of non-conforming suppliers. Lead the development of the Stockroom Continuous Improvement Plan and special projects. May provide work direction and training to others
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Associate's Degree/Technical Diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and three (3) years of combined experience in procurement, sourcing, and/or parts/inventory management OR High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and five (5) years of combined experience in procurement, sourcing, and/or parts/inventory management in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Experience in MRO stockroom operations
Experience with purchasing systems such PeopleSoft and/or SAP
Experience with computerized maintenance management software systems
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
