Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Government Relations with a dotted line to the Department Head of Statistics and Data Science; the Assistant Director of Corporate Partnerships will lead and facilitate the identification, development, and execution of effective research and educational partnerships with companies, research organizations, corporate foundations, and government groups primarily for the Department of Statistics and Data Science (StatDS) but with a broad goal to support the entire Dietrich College. The Assistant Director serves as StatDS' primary authorized representative for outreach to third parties wishing to develop partnerships with the department and college. Focusing primarily on building mutually-beneficial partnerships with external organizations, both newly discovered partners, as well as expanding current relationships, to support relevant focus areas as they relate to the overall goals of the Department of Statistics and Data Science, the Dietrich College's strategic priorities, and the Advancement Division.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement cultivation and solicitation strategies for external prospects and provide effective coordination of activities such as campus visits and events, site visits, project showcase events, etc. and travel to relevant sites, and presentations or proposal submissions.
- Initiate opportunities for faculty to interact with corporate prospects and facilitate meaningful matches between industry interests to the department's strengths, forging new opportunities to work together, inclusive of sponsored research activity and classroom-facing industry involvement.
- Cultivate and solicit external partnerships that allow companies to tackle pressing projects through motivated undergraduate and graduate students and provides StatDS Dietrich students with impactful real-world experience.
- Work closely with the StatDS undergraduate, Masters in Statistical Practice, and the Masters of Science in Computational Finance Program (MSCF) Program Coordinators, and work to anticipate and identify new inroads to external partnerships.
- Work closely with Dietrich College's Advancement staff, Dietrich College's Office of Communications, Office of Business Engagement, Office of Sponsored Programs, and other university representatives to create opportunities to build awareness among corporate constituencies in order to build and significantly expand the department's industry relationships.
- Identify and maintain event sponsorship.
- Identify key alumni within corporations/foundations and review corporate profiles that suggest potential relationships because of common interests.
- Maintain up-to-date reports and records of all interactions.
- Generate and edit marketing materials and digital content.
- Other duties as assigned.
You must demonstrate:
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to, and understand the needs and interests of corporations in order to develop relationships between them and the university.
- Ability to initiate, follow-through, analyze, monitor, and evaluate strategy plans for qualification, cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
- Interest in all aspects of education and a dedication to promoting the university's funding priorities through developing excellent working relationships with faculty, senior academic leaders, trustees and other volunteers, and the university and college advancement teams.
- Personal belief in mission, goals and objectives of private higher education.
- Demonstrated problem solving and reasoning skills, analytical skills and oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in fundraising, foundation, sales or market development, preferably within a higher education fundraising setting.
- Comfortable and familiarity working within a non-linear enterprise that pivots quickly to new priorities, relying heavily on proactive, clear communication.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must successfully complete a driver's license verification on an annual basis. Must complete the National Safety Council Defensive Driver Training once every three years.
