The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law seeks an Associate Research Scholar to enhance and expand the Center's work on climate risk and financial regulation. The Associate Research Scholar will help to advance the Initiative on Climate Risk and Resilience Law (ICRRL), which the Center established in June 2021 in partnership with Environmental Defense Fund, the Institute for Policy Integrity at New York University School of Law, and Vanderbilt University School of Law. ICRRL aims to develop innovate legal solutions to mitigate and manage climate-related risks. The Associate Research Scholar will play a leading role in ICRRL's work on climate risk and financial regulation.
In particular, working with the Sabin Center's Faculty Director and Executive Director and ICRRL partners, the Associate Research Scholar will:
Conduct research and publish reports, articles, and other materials on corporate climate risk, financial regulation, and related topics.
Lead the Sabin Center's engagement in relevant regulatory proceedings through the submission of comments and supporting legal and scientific research, as well as in amicus efforts in relevant judicial proceedings.
Coordinate with, and facilitate the engagement of, other stakeholders.
Help raise ICRRL's profile and grow its network of legal and technical experts, including by identifying and engaging with legal scholars, practitioners, and others with expertise relevant to climate risk and financial regulation.
This is a one-year position, with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.

About the Initiative on Climate Risk and Resilience Law:
3-8 years of professional legal experience with a government agency, NGO, law firm, corporation, or law school center.
Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state.
Experience in climate change, ESG, corporate law, financial and securities regulation.
