The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $158,500 - $200,000. Individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. SUMMARY
Provides legal counsel, review, and advisement on a broad range of matters, leads management on litigation and claims, identifies liability, assesses, and provides recommendations for mitigating risk, develops and manages defense strategy, while minimizing costs. Enhances and develops in-house training, supervises and manages the development and performance of support staff and outside counsel, supporting in our work to develop a diverse and highly effective legal team.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Franchise Operations. Partners in on automotive franchise matters including, but not limited to, buy/sell agreements, relocations, add points terminations, chargebacks, and warranty matters. This also includes advising the field Sales/Market Development leaders across the US market. Collaboration with leaders to support various field market/sales activations and troubleshooting on store facility issues and assists in the handling of legal matters related to Independent Subaru Distributors.
Trade Organization. Interfaces with trade organization, as needed.
Training and Development. Provides training on assorted legal topics, as needed.
Leadership. Supervises and manages activities and staff members in the legal function as needed.
Collaborate. Works in tandem with the broader legal team to support, advise, and partner in other practice areas as needed.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
At least eight (8) to ten (10) years of relevant experience
Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school, admission to Bar of at least one state and In-House Bar of New Jersey.
8 to 10 years of related experience
Extensive knowledge in the substantive areas for which the incumbent is responsible.
Excellent verbal and written communication, problem solving, analytical, organizational, and negotiating skills with demonstrated ability to achieve results.
Demonstrates success in corporate law department, law firm, or government practice.
Excellent business judgment, agility, and ability to employ strategic thinking.
Team-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative approach, and ability to provide cross-functional integration.
