Summary | MTRI (www.mtri.org) is seeking a highly motivated, intellectually curious professional interested in conducting cutting-edge research in radar and systems engineering. This position requires collaboration with senior engineers and scientists to research, design, and evaluate algorithms for various signal- and image-processing applications related to radar remote sensing. Individuals will be developing an externally supported research portfolio while supporting multiple projects for government and commercial customers. A successful candidate will have a solid background in electrical engineering with an emphasis on radar modeling. |
Responsibilities | - • Participate as an integral team member on multi-disciplinary research relating to applying technical skills to solve governmental and societal needs.
• Provide technical, analytical, and numerical support for ongoing research and development projects in radar modeling, electrical engineering, and signal processing. • Design and implement signal processing and remote sensing algorithms in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++ programming languages. • Assist with the design and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for ongoing research and development projects • Prepare and deliver reports or presentations of research projects/analysis results to project sponsors as appropriate. • Contribute to the generation of proposals and external funding. • Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work. - Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Required Education, Certifications, Licensures | - B.S. degree or higher in electrical engineering

Required Experience | - • Experience in radar modeling and/or systems engineering
• Experience in PCB design and testing • Experience managing projects and leading technical teams • Experience developing and implementing test procedures |
Desirable Education and/or Experience | - • Experience implementing algorithms in prototype software, such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++
• Experience with circuit modeling and simulation |
Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities | - • Must have active TS//SCI Department of Defense security clearance
• Certified in Altium Designer • Knowledge and experience with the development and analysis of remote sensing systems such as CubeSats • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written, and presentation communication skills • Ability to take direction but work without continuous oversight • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment with respect to significant matters related to job duties • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy work environment
